英语中有几个介词及短语都表示“除了”,老虎英语谐音(老虎英语谐音怎么读)但它们用法各异，各具特色。

He knew nothing about it except what I told him．

除了我告诉他的，对此事他一无所知。

（4）except 常和介词for连用，构成短语except for，后面只能接名词短语，表示“整体中除去部分以外，其余都……”，另外当except引导的短语用于句首时，要用except for 代替。例如：

Your composition is very good except for spelling mistakes.

除了拼写错误, 你的作文很不错。

Except for Tom, the whole class passed the text.

除了汤姆全班都通过了这次测验。

2. but也可以表示“除了”， 但它的用法十分有限，通常只能用在no（及其复合词），any（及其复合词），every（及其复合词），all，none，who，what，where 等之后。

There’s nothing in the room but an old table. 除了一张旧桌子，房间里什么都没有。

I have read all the books but one. 只差一本这些书我都看完了。

Where but the school can he go? 除了学校他还能去哪里呢？

3. besides 也可以表示“除了”，但它的意思是“除了…以外, 还（有）……”，它包括在整体范围之内，只是把besides后面的部分强调一下，常与also, other等词连用。例如：

We all went to the park besides Mary. 除了玛丽外, 我们也都去了公园.

We also study some subjects besides English.

除了英语，我们还学了其他几门课程。

There are three other girl besides Lucy. 除了露西，还有其他三个女孩。

注意：当besides用于否定句时，意思是 “除了……外”，可以与except替换。
